As a future high school English teacher and a current homeschooler of two small kids, I really appreciate your site! I have a request for you. Have you ever done a topic or category for book clubs for the young and young adult crowd?

Kim, no, I haven't, but that's a good idea. I read a book on the subject ("Deconstructing Penguins," by Lawrence and Nancy Goldstone), but their approach struck me as kind of odd. (Overly analytical for kids, in my opinion...having 2nd graders identify protagonists and antagonists.)

I'll put my ear to the ground, though, and see if I can't come up with some reading-group books. (My son is too young for them, and discussions of the Bob books and Clifford phonics stories are, well, kinda limited!)

Or do you mean a bulletin-board on the Web that kids and young adults could post on? That I probably won't get into, just due to time constraints. But it, too, is a good idea for someone.
