"The World's Greatest Elephant"

In the weekend Wall Street Journal Meghan Cox Gurdon, who writes regularly about children's books, recommends The World's Greatest Elephant, written by Ralph Helfer and illustrated by Ted Lewin. It's the dramatic story of a Ringling Brothers circus star and her trainer; their amazing adventures include a stint in the Pakistani army. Get a copy of the April 15th/16th Journal, and read the whole review on page P8. (It's not available online.) As soon as I can, I'm going to request this one at the library.
