R.I.P., Karla Kuskin (1932-2009)
August 22, 2009
Karla Kuskin, who wrote wonderful books for children, died recently. The Philharmonic Gets Dressed is a favorite around here. So is her poem "Write About a Radish," which the New York Times includes in Kuskin's obituary. A lovely detail.

I'm a big fan, too. Her philharmonic book is definitely one of my all-time faves. LOVE the radish poem.

I do love her poems. Under My Hood I Have a Hat is one of my great storytime favorites. I read it all year round.

Sad that no more poems will come from her. So majorly talented. I was shocked to read the news over the weekend.
