"Almost a literary version" of the Cosby family
March 24, 2010
Recently on this blog Harlem's Hue-Man bookstore recommended the Ruby Booker series for middle-grade readers. This morning the author, Derrick Barnes, chats with blogging bookseller Doret, over at Color Online. I was tickled to read that Barnes subscribed to American Girl magazine as part of the research for the books.
I love the way he describes Ruby as "my fictional ... daughter"! Thanks for linking to that interview, Susan -- I believe I'll see if I can get a Barton boy or two interested in the Booker boys and Ruby.

I liked that, too, Chris. Hey, your Barton boys might make a great series!
